Henley Christmas Reception 2024
Join us for this year's Christmas Reception at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet
We warmly invite you to the 2024 Henley Christmas Reception, following the success of last year's event! Organised by the Henley Alumni Board and Henley Business School, this magical evening offers an opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni, indulge in festive cheer, and enjoy the beauty of Finnish classical music.
Christmas Reception (17:00-19:00)
We are delighted to invite you to the Finnish National Opera and Ballet at 17:00, where we will be warmly welcomed by General Director Gita Katambi and Henley Alumni Chair Michaela Ramm-Schmidt. Following their opening words, you’ll have the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and make new connections in this elegant setting, while enjoying sparkling wine and a selection of finger foods.
The ticket fee is 37€ per person (including a glass of wine and cocktail snacks). The dress code is business/festive. The opera tickets must be bought separately.
Optional: The Ostrobothnians Opera (19:00 - 22:00)
After the reception, you have the opportunity to experience Leevi Madetoja’s (1887–1947) The Ostrobothnians (”Pohjalaisia”), which is often called Finland’s national opera, and rightly so. It’s a story about persistence, human rights, and freedom. Pohjalaisia was first performed in 1924. A century later, it reminds us of the timeless nature of stories that stir the human soul. The melodic music of the opera appeals to the emotions with its wistful undertones.
Exclusive Offer for Henley Alumni:
When you register for the Christmas reception, you’ll receive a discount code for The Ostrobothnians. Opera tickets are sold separately, and places are limited—so make sure to book early!
