Narendra Laljani talks leaders as coaches; internal vs external coaches; who is the client?

This episode starts with an expert interview with Narendra Laljani discussing the concept of leaders as coaches. Narendra is a management educator, consultant and CEO coach with 25 years' experience in leadership development and helping organisations to become more effective. Dr Rebecca Jones

Rebecca is an Associate Professor in Coaching at Henley Business School, the Director of the Henley Centre for Coaching and a Chartered Psychologist. Her research interests lie in examining the factors that influence coaching effectiveness. Passionate about evidence-based practice and teaching, she incorporates her research into her teaching practice at Henley’s Centre for Coaching.

Rebecca is the author of the book ‘Coaching with Research in Mind’ and has published her research in leading journals such as Academy of Management Learning & Education, the Journal of Occupational & Organizational Psychology and the European Journal of Work & Organizational Psychology.

Aboodi Shabi

Aboodi is a Lecturer in Coaching and Behavioural Change at Henley Business School.

He has been working in executive coaching and coach training since the mid 1990s and has several years of international coaching, training and leadership development experience. He has delivered coach-training programmes and worked with executives and teams all over the world, in sectors ranging from NGOs to financial services, pharmaceuticals and media.

Jude Fairweather

Jude Fairweather is a Lecturer in Coaching and Behavioural Change at Henley Business School.

Having qualified as a professional coach more than 20 years ago, Jude is energised by the positive ripple effects of coaching in organisations on both the clients and the people and the systems in which they work and live. It is this ripple effect that drives her to both support the growth and development of professional coaches and to play her part in developing coaching as a core capability of leaders in organisations

Dr Narendra Laljani

Dr Narendra Laljani is a management educator, consultant and CEO coach with 25 years' experience in leadership development and helping organisations to become more effective. He has worked at board level with international corporations and has also taught on several leading MBA programmes.


He is the programme director of the Henley Executive Management Programme.
